Reading is not about productivity, biohacking, pushing your limits. Its about being able to not overstimulate yout senses for some time, take a nice place to sit and enjoy that low stimuling and highly pleasure (that dependes on the book) activity. Most people that read too little, doesnt even know their own taste for books. We spend hours and hours searching, trying movies that we dont like, watching bad series, until we understand our taste and start to choose the right ones quicker. We must be able to buy bad books, like out of 3 books bought, one or two will be bad, at least while we are learning our taste. With the productivity thing going on, we will feel guilty for not reading those books we bought (and didnt like) because the book would never be the problem, of course, i am, because as the coaches said, im lazy, i should do some more effort. Next time you stop reading an unpleasent book, just pick another one and try again. Maybe you were not the problem. The reading experience should be meaningful and pleasent, not an obligation.

yes, this is exactly what happiness means for a regular human being - the freedom to go along, do your fair share of the work, and have a life that is not threatened, a life that is free from deadly or catastrophic possibilitieshanging about in the atmosphere :) - I remember being aware, when I left copenhaven, that there was no actual reason to go - I felt perfectly satisfied there, and so did my son, who was traveling with me :)

Reading is extremely fun, that's how I spent most of my time. It's just the fact the I overindulge in fiction, like reading "The Schrodinger Girl by Laurel Brett" in two days just because of how much I enjoyed it. I also read alot of eastern "comics" such as mangas, manhwas, and manhuas alike, some examples could include 20th century boys, martial peak, and sweet home. So, yes. It is easy to read but it's hard to read things that could actually help you. Like reading non-ficitions. That's why I said to myself that I'll only buy physical copies of books if they're non-fiction. It's a really great way to get you to read some amazing books, like "Finish Strong by Dan Greene" even with the fact that it has way too many biblacal citations but the message still stands out, "finish strong". There's also " The Mountain Is You by Brianna Weist ", it's a really great book if you want to re-evaluate your life and the way you're living. One of the best part of the books is about how we fundamentally chase comfort over what's good for us, and one of the things that might help all of us is that as mentioned in the book "we change in microshifts and not breakthroughs". It's about making the unfamiliar familiar, and making the uncomfortable comfortable for the better by slowly changing our behaviors inching towards our goal ever so slowly instead of forcing ourselves to be there immediately. So read non-fictional books for your own growth, and history to know about the greatness that has once walked this world.

As an extrovert I need to live in a place with people who are more so that outgoing style of happiness, I've been to Sweden and Denmark and as an Australian I find the people there a bit dull and flat, it's like everyone's afraid to embarrass themselves and just have a mad time, I think in Scandinavia the word happiness means something more like contentment, where as in the anglosphere happiness is more associated with fun, I personally enjoy pursuing a dream more than just being content with what I have and I like competition, I think the important thing with ambition however is to remember that you should be enjoining the journey, I do believe Australians are a lot happier than Scandinavians on average, mainly because of the weather and because Australians don't take life as serious

4:11 Let's make something clear. Scandinavia consists of the three countries, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. On the other hand, the Nordic countries consist of the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, and Sweden) as well as Finland, Iceland, Åland, Faroe Islands, and Greenland. It can't be that hard. And i'm not hating on anyone and trying to correct, i'm trying to educate. That being said, this documentary is really well made and it is just excellent!

let's set the stage - the report is commissioned by the UN - that says it all... how can you imaging having anything relevant then.. seriously .. that being said Happiness is such a personal thing I believe. We all have our own definition of happiness. Ok, nobody ever asked WHY happiness was suddenly associated with this country ? this system ? I've been living here in Copenhagen for three years and all I see is a society who is deeply traumatised .. by what ? I don't know.. of course .. cosmetically it's perfection, nice families, hygge and so on but underneath all this.... I witnessed my landlady who is a very respectable person having panic attacks out of nowhere and then leave the house with a forced smile. Then another young woman absolutely perfect on the outside with the usual smile on her face spilling her sadness about her personal family story on SoMe out of nowhere.. and so many more stories I could go on.. no. There's no happiness in this country - beautiful family stories ? maybe ... not to mention racism ... there's comfort but a comfort that kills any spark of real life hence maybe the alcoholism going on since ... ok it's part of the culture I get it - but hey what an excuse ... coming from another European country I was sold the incredibly happy Scandi dream like anyone else... when you have eyes to see and heart to feel you get something else ... I am tired of this BS marketing around happiness in DK because that 's all that is ... marketing, surface level ... to make sure you really forget about what's important - real life.

perhaps this describes Danish happiness very well. at my work we keep four electric cars, one is the CEO of the company, and the other three of us are ordinary workers, my boss drives a Mercedes, I have a VW, and my other two colleagues have a Volvo and a Tesla, all are equal owners their own house, can afford to go on holiday every year. and we take our breaks together where we talk about everything, life in Denmark is without hierarchies, divisions an almost classless society, as long as you solve your task, you are seen as having as much value in the community as the CEO who sits at the top with his tasks. This is Danishness, maybe I travel on monkyclass, but I come, as Ingvar Kalson, the founder of IKEA, said to the same airport, and this is very telling for the Nordic model. basically everyone can afford to buy a house, have a nice car kept in the carport and go on holidays every year which is guaranteed by law that we MUST take at least 5 weeks holiday a year, you basically don't work more than they 37-40 hours a week and the differences from being at the top to being more at the normal end are very few and small, it's the difference between having a Mercedes electric car or a VW, similar electric car. and this is where we have the basis for Danish happiness. yes, life in the country, in Denmark is not fundamentally different from in the big cities, I myself live in the country and would not trade with those who live in the city, while they probably see it the same way, on the contrary, I don't think of my pension life as a problem, with anything other than the fact that I have to lose a few kg around my stomach, but everything else is part of my collective agreement where I have my pension savings, which is now around DKK 2 million, about $300,000 and I'm 55,

In short, just do it. Minimize distractions. Turn the tv off. Put your phone/tablet in another room. Read in a comfortable position. Wear comfy clothes. It’ll become habit in no time and you’ll get faster at reading the more you do it.
